Businesswriters & Design has long-term client relationships. Take for example agricultural and feed company Ridley Corporation, who we worked with from 1990 to 2008. For the last seven years of the relationship (until the company headquarters moved to Melbourne), we wrote, designed and project managed the company’s annual reports. All had an honest, unpretentious feel and the final one we did was no different. Its earthy character brought it back to the heart of what Ridley is all about. Printed on Mohawk Opaque, a paper that combines 10% post consumer waste with elemental chlorine free (ECF) pulps (which means bleaching is done with the use of a chlorine compound that significantly reduces pollutants), the design uses a collage of images, textures and interesting typography. The textures come from the polypropylene bags used to store grain, while the typography reflects the rubber stamps often used for labelling.
